Beginner Team Penning School 2021

Nominations are now open on the website for the Ty Granger beginner team penning school for 2021. As always spots are limited and they are not secured until monies are paid.

This year the school will be held on the 27th - 28th February starting from 8am on the Saturday. Cost for the school is $240 which includes lunch Saturday and Sunday and camping for the weekend.

You must be a GHRA member, day membership is available. Note, attendants are responsible for all other meals themselves other than lunch. (please let us know if you have any special dietary requirements for lunch)

These weekends have always been very popular and are a great introduction to the sport of team penning as well as Ty offers assistance with horsemanship and general cattle handling skills throughout the weekend.

Ty is a local saddler and silversmith and has been riding and competing for many years in western disciplines with many buckles on his belt and a vast knowledge.

Over the weekend program you will get both dry work and cattle work and an opportunity on the sunday afternoon to have a go in the mock competition to test out all your new skills.

It is a fun filled weekend of learning so don't miss out as spots are limited.

head to the nominate section of the website and nominate and pay now to secure your spot. If you haven't been to our club before it is easy to sign up a login in and nominate and you will get an email confirmation with details for payment once you submit your nomination.

Camping will be available from the Friday after lunch time with an 8am warm up and 8.30-9am start on the Saturday and usually finished around 2pm on the Sunday,

GHRA (Gympie Horse and Rodeo) is located on Jane st, turn at the tennis court lights in Gympie, across from the pony club. We have great facilities and nice hot gas showers as well as powered camping. and lots of yards for horses. We are very central in town with delivery available from Dominos etc and courtesy buses to most of the pubs as well.

This school is designed for beginner team penners, not beginner riders but is great fun for anyone who wants to learn some skills on cattle.

So gather your friends and have a weekend away filled with horses, friends and some cows. What better way to spend a weekend :)
